The Sixth Dwelling – The Betrothal
It is with love and courage that we make our way into the sixth dwelling. For the last five weeks we have been talking about surrendering ourselves to the divine, and now we are really down to it. This week we are invited to enter the deep inner chambers of our hearts and minds to the place where the union between our souls and God is reawakened. Teresa warns us that in this dwelling we need more courage than we may think. As we say ‘yes’ to our God nature, we are confronted by all that remains to separate us from God. We may not feel the presence of God and our friends may not understand. Nonetheless, we are called to go forward into this purifying crucible and come out on the other side knowing the gentle arts of detachment and humility. As we grow in knowledge and love, we begin to understand more fully our deepest desires to be one with God. Come join me on Sunday as we explore this topic further.

Part 5 our our 7 week series.
This Sunday is Week Five of our seven-week book study on Megan Don’s book, Falling into the Arms of God about Teresa of Avila. This week we explore the topic of Spiritual Surrender. Surrender is not about defeat, it’s about yielding to the flow of life.
In this dwelling we are invited to truly surrender. When we truly surrender there is no hidden self and no separation and it is God who dies all the planning- Falling into the Arms of God
I look forward to going deeper each week into our study. I invite to join me on this inner journey.

Part 3 in our 7 week series.
This Sunday is week three of our 7-week book study on Megan Don’s book, Falling into the Arms of God about Teresa of Avila. This week we explore the topic of Self Knowledge.
We all have three main teachers in life: joy, pain and sorrow. Last week I posed the question, of these three, who is our predominant teacher? This week we will explore how I believe that Teresa would have responded to this question.
I look forward to going deeper each week on this inner journey. I invite to join me.

Part 2 of our 7 week series.
This week we kicked off our seven-week in-home book study, based on Megan Don’s book, Falling into the Arms of God. This is a book about St. Teresa of Avila. More than that, it is a chance to go deep in our own spiritual journey. It’s a great time to be in a study group to share personal revelations.
As part of the journey, I ask you to create a journal over the next seven weeks. In that journal, make note of the inner rooms (aspect of consciousness in which we find ourselves) that we occupy each day. Are we in the room of fear or embarrassment? Are we in the room of love and acceptance? Whatever the aspect of consciousness is in which we reside, lets take note. The first step in knowing oneself and God is taking notice of where we are. Once we see where we are spending our time then we can look for the blessing in each room – especially the rooms that we don’t want to occupy or admit that we are in.
Teresa realized that the journey within is the most important journey. At the same time she functioned at a much higher level in the secular world than she ever had previously. She accomplished this by letting her spiritual nature guide her. I call on all of us to be as bold as Teresa.

The Awakening – Part 1 of our 7 week series.
This week, we kick off our 7-week in-home book study, based on Megan Don’s book, Falling Into the Arms of God.This is a book about St. Teresa of Avila. She was quite a mystic while at the same time functioning on a highly productive level in the secular society. There are 7 dwelling places (mansions) that Teresa describes as being analogous to a crystal castle that is our soul, with God in the centermost room. Each mansion has many rooms. Each represents an aspect of our spiritual journey.
