Spiritual people worldwide observe many seasonal days of celebration during the month of December. Most are religious holy days and are linked in some way to the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. On that day, due to the earth’s tilt on its axis, the daytime hours are at a minimum in the Northern hemisphere and night time is at a maximum. Unity’s roots in the spiritual world of darkness and light are deep and broad. This Sunday we are exploring the confluence of Hanukkah, which begins at sunset on December 20, the Winter Solstice which begins on December 22 and Christmas on December 25. Join Rabbi Henry Shreibman, Licensed Unity Teacher Kris Bowman-Kreuzer, and Rev. Medora as we move from Darkness into Light with the help of some of our most ancient traditions.
